I bought this book for my American Government college course and I was a little worried because I decided to buy this edition instead of the newest edition. This decision has not hindered me in anyway! This book is extremely well written and is designed to make studying very enjoyable. I am very glad I decided to buy this book, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in American Government. You will appreciate the educated detail, precision, and accuracy the author brings to your attention.

Nothing to do with the actual product or it's seller. The book is poorly written for students that are taking this course in high school, and includes little of what students should know about their government. There are definitely better written AP GOV books.

One of the best commentaries on Hebrews

One of the great New Testament scholars of the twentieth century was F.F. Bruce, whose commentary on Hebrews is part of the New International Commentary on the New Testament series. As is the case with his other works, Bruce's writing is clear and accessible to the layperson looking for an overview of Hebrews. As with the other commentaries in the NICNT, this commentary places the more technical matters, including those involving the Greek text, in footnotes.

The introductory material is quite useful as well. As is well known, the question of the authorship of "Hebrews" has engendered a lively and centuries-long discussion. Bruce does a great job of discussing the various suggestions regarding authorship and reaches the modest but reasonable conclusion that we cannot know for sure, except that it is almost certain that the Apostle Paul is not the author. Bruce's discussion of the canonicity of the book is also worth reading.

Good Supplement For Reading/Writing Students, Not Absolutely Necessary

I like this workbook for use with the text. I do think the text could be used well without it...there are several activities per chapter, and they are of basically the same format for each chapter. Most parents could come up with the activities, written work and review questions on their own. My favorite activities are the crossword puzzles and the hands on type activities. The hands on are also in the text book as are the review questions.

I recommend getting the workbook if in the budget, but with a little effort on the parent's part, one could do well without it.

When my oldest child, now 25, first asked me this question, I was somewhat at a loss for an answer that first of all made sense, and secondly was accurate. This wonderful course was not available to me at that time. Thankfully, my 2 youngest (of 5) children were able to work through the course with me and have a much better grasp on the way our universe looks and works from both the scientific and faith building majesty of God's creation. WE LOVED THIS COURSE!!!!

Presented in a friendly, conversational style, there is just enough of both reading and hands on activity. I would not hesitate to (and have) recommended this for multi-age teaching from pre K thru about 8th grade. The younger children will have most of the questions, but the older students will learn a tremendous amount as well.

Supplement this with ability leveled reading supplements on the subject, the time period and biographies of the important people along the way and you will have a fun 1/2 year (at science 2 days a week) or full year (at science 1 day a week) program. I recommend one journal book per student, even for the little ones. They will have fun with the many and varied activities in the journal.

GREAT science curriculum for a busy house

Works great for my preschooler who observes to my first graders and third grader. The notebook is a must for the textbook it corresponds with. A wonderful curriculum for parents who school their little ones at home and attempt to train them to love the Creator of all with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Activities are fairly easy, quick, and help cement material into their minds. Each child loves having their own space to work, color, and "take notes" while I read the information to them.

I can't be, I protested, I own a house, a business. I'm married to a Japanese. Impossible, was the reply. You are illegal. I survived, but this book would have helped me had it been available in those days.

The one and only book for starting a life in Japan!

If you are interested in living in Japan, this is the book for you.
I have lived and worked in Japan several times over the past ten years, and I wished I had this book.

The author's, one a lawyer ( and one a professor, have lived and worked in Japan (in both good and bad working situations) and provide everything you need to know about setting up your life. They provide information on employment, visa's, owning a home, getting married and divorced, being a member of the community, Also the book is in both Japanese and English, so that when you are standing at the city office counter asking in your broken Japanese how to?... You can point to the section of the book, and the city worker will be able to read it!

This book is a must for anyone considering living or working in Japan, and an excellent resource if you just want to know how it all works (that's you JET's). You can also order it through the author's at [...]
