A touching story.

This is a book you can easily fall in love with. This story was humorous, engaging and at times heartbreaking. It's about narrow mindedness, about how bigotry can effect people, prejudices and misguided applications of morality that still plagues our world. But also about great friends and falling in love. I loved the way they rose up against bigotry and homophobia. It did tug at my heartstrings. I highly recommend it. Once you start reading, you can't put it down.

Stop the Presses

April, a reporter, is close friends with the lesbian bar owner, Tandy. While bemoaning the lack of support for lesbians and the lack of things to do outside the bar, Tandy suggests April start a support group in the bar's spare room, The Ladies Room. Its not long before the question of legal rights comes into question. April reaches out to the lovely lawyer she had met doing a story a few weeks before. Surprisingly, Sophia comes back and sticks around to spent time with April. Meanwhile a bigoted Reverend is spouting hellfire and brimstone At the GLBT community. What happens next is for you to discover.
I've never read anything by this author before but I must say I liked it a lot. The characters were lovable from the start. Through out the book they grew and developed into stronger women. The plot lines were well written, interesting and very enjoyable. I thought the Reverend's violence could have been more and escalating but it didn't really take anything away from the story. I had a very difficult time putting this book down, I read it till I was cross eyed with fatigue but went back to it as quickly as I could. This is a book that has earned a place on my re-read list. Very well done. Thank you Ms Peck.

This book hit the mark and is a great read

This is the first book that I have read by Kayt Peck and I really enjoyed it and will certainly look for future books of hers to read. I thought that she did a nice job of providing some surprises but overall just creating a nice story. The characters were well developed and the cast of supporting characters added some depth to the book so that it didn't all center around the two main characters April and Sophia. It mostly followed the HEA recipe but the story moved along at a nice pace and kept me engaged and looking forward to what happened next. I definitely think that this is worth reading and provided me with a few hours of loosing myself in someone else's world.
